FAQ's

I get asked quite a few questions about groundhopping/football and here is a list of my most frequently asked questions:

Q: Who do you support?
A: Sutton United F.C. and I also follow Queens Park Rangers.

Q: How come you don't go to every Sutton United away game?
A: The situation before the end of the 2017/18 season was it depends on what my dad is working and whether we combined have enough money to pay for the trips and we normally averaged around 10 Sutton away games every season and have done from 2015 to 2018. The current situation is I am working in Somerset from February to December at a holiday resort so I am lucky if I make one away game and one home game a season.

Q: Why did you start writing your blog?
A: Well, I was bored one day in the summer holidays and decided to give it a go because my friend Russell (The Wycombe Wanderer) writes his own blog and I wanted to do something similar and since then, it has become a hobby.

Q: When was your first ever football match?
A: Would have been around 2001/2002 when I first went and watched Sutton United aged around 2/3 years old.

Q: What was the first ground you went to outside of Sutton United?
A: Wembley Stadium in 2010 for a friendly between England and Hungary and it is the first ever football match I ever remember!

Q: What was your first ever groundhop and why did you go there?
A: My first ever groundhop was Woking FC in October 2013 and I saw them draw 0-0 with FC Halifax Town and I went there because I liked the large seated stand behind the goal (Leslie Gosden Stand) and I wanted to go and see it for real.

Q: What was the first Sutton game that you remember?
A: Sutton United vs Basingstoke Town in February 2013 and Sutton won 3-2.

Q: What was your first ever Sutton away game?
A: Staines Town vs Sutton in December 2013 and we lost 2-1.

Q: Why do you enjoy groundhopping?
A: Well, you can make the groundhop a little day out and you get to experience football at different levels and go to grounds that you would never get the chance to go when watching your team.

Q: What has been your favourite ground that you've visited?
A: Probably the Boleyn Ground, Loftus Road or Glanford Park.

Q: What ground would you most recommend visiting?
A: Well, that's a hard one because I recommend going to most of the grounds I go to but if I had to suggest one then it would probably be The Meadow (Chesham United), it is such a traditional non league ground, very friendly, the food is excellent and is in my top 15 groundhops!
